Navigating Motherhood with Grace

Some days, life feels manageable. Other days? It feels like someone dumped a pile of emotional bricks onto your chest while your toddler is screaming, dinner is burning, your phone is going off, and somebody needs you every five seconds.
And somewhere in the middle of all that chaos, we convince ourselves we are supposed to “handle it gracefully.”

During my conversation with Lexi Kinney on the podcast, she said something that stopped me in my tracks: “Is it a pebble… or is it a boulder?” And honestly? I think every woman needs to ask herself that question more often.

Lexi is the kind of woman who carries a hundred things at once while still making people feel loved in the middle of it all. She’s raising three beautiful girls, balancing work, marriage, motherhood, exhaustion, schedules, noise, emotions, and all the invisible mental tabs women keep open 24/7.
And somehow… she still finds gratitude in the middle of the chaos.

Laugh, Cry, & Schedules

We laughed about the chaos because honestly… if you don’t laugh, you might cry. Toys everywhere. Kids needing snacks five minutes after saying they weren’t hungry.

Schedules overlapping. Laundry reproducing itself somehow. And those rare moments at night when the house finally goes quiet, and you just sit there staring into space, wondering what day it even is.

Women Pretending to Survive

And I think that’s what hit me the hardest during our conversation.
So many women are surviving life instead of allowing themselves to feel seen inside of it.

The older I get, the more I realize women are carrying silent boulders while pretending they’re pebbles. Why do we have to pretend? Why can't we be real?

Family Matters- You Matter

One of the deepest moments in our conversation was when Lexi spoke about losing her brother at a young age.
And you could feel it. Not just in her words…but in the perspective she carries because of it. Some losses change the way you see time forever. They remind you that life is fragile. That people are not permanent. That love deserves to be spoken out loud while we still have the chance.

I think that’s why Lexi loves so deeply. Why family matters so much to her. Why connection matters.

I know so many women reading this needed that reminder. Families matter. YOU matter. Doing what you love matters.

Some things in life are pebbles. Temporary frustrations. Small inconveniences. But some things? They are boulders.
Grief. Burnout. Loss. Survival mode. And too many women are trying to carry boulders silently.

You're Not Alone

Maybe that’s the question we all need to ask ourselves more often.
Is this a pebble…or a boulder? And maybe even more importantly…do we have to carry it alone? Because conversations like this remind me that women do not need perfection.

We need connection. We need honesty. We need spaces where we can finally exhale and say, “Me too.” And that is exactly why stories like Lexi’s matter.

You are not crazy for feeling overwhelmed. You are not alone. But remember that your story matters too.
